Jurae Kang

Jurae has spent over fifteen years at investment banks, private equity firms, and other investment companies working across the infrastructure and alternative investment space.

Prior to founding IPM Asset Management, Jurae was in charge of the Project Finance Planning Team at Samsung C&T, where he was responsible for project financing and procurement of the company’s overseas infrastructure projects and sales. Jurae executed the €600 million Turkey Hospital PPP Project by inviting Korean financial investors and involving MIGA, EIB, EBRD, and Korean-ECAs and the disposal of Samsung C&T’s stakes in the 433 MW Mexico Norte II CCGT power plant and Samsung C&T’s investment in the Victorian Desalination Plant (TIC of A$4.95 billion) to financial investors. Jurae also was responsible for structuring various financing tranches, including project bonds, MDB-covered loans, and Korean FI investments in greenfield infrastructure projects developed by Samsung C&T across the Americas, CIS, MENA, East Asia, and Africa. Before working at a Hong Kong-based private equity firm responsible for alternative investments, Jurae worked for Macquarie Securities in Seoul. At Macquarie, Jurae was responsible for Project Finance for infrastructure and real estate development projects including the restructuring of the 200MW Suwan Energy district power plant and the Daesan Combined Cycle Power Plant. Jurae also successfully led the complex U$500 million real estate development project located in the CBD of Seoul from development to the disposal of the asset. Jurae began his career at PWC’s M&A advisory team in Seoul.

Jurae studied at Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Statistics and a master’s degree in Financial Management. Jurae is a member of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Certified Investment Manager in Korea.
