Andrew Garman

Andrew is a Partner at IPM and has been with the firm since its establishment. Andrew oversees and is responsible for IPM’s execution capabililites and investment team, as well as the managment of IPM’s regulated entity in the United Kingdom. A former engineering graduate, Andrew has spent nearly a decade working with infrastructure in the UK, Asia Pacific and MENA regions.

Andrew began his career at pan-Asian conglomerate Jardine Matheson & Co. in Hong Kong where, among other secondments, he worked in strategy and finance at leading contractor Gammon Construction, a joint venture with Balfour Beatty. During his time at Gammon Construction, the company worked on their investment in the first social infrastructure PPP in Singapore, ITE College West.

Returning to the UK, Andrew spent three years at DWPF in London, a leading boutique financial advisory dedicated exclusively to Project and Infrastructure finance. Andrew worked on numerous transactions in both public and private infrastructure, spanning the Energy, Waste Management, Student Accommodation and Property sectors. His role involved building complex financial models to aid a range of debt and equity finance solutions, realising significant value for equity sponsors through optimising their capital investment structures.

Whilst on permanent secondment to the InfraMed Infrastructure Fund, Andrew worked on bringing the JWPC Tafila Wind Farm project to financial close, the appraisal of a number of new opportunities in the MENA region, and the monitoring and valuation of InfraMed’s existing portfolio.

Andrew holds a 1st class Master of Engineering degree from the University of Edinburgh, and a Certificate in Business Accounting awarded by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Andrew has also conducted workshops on project finance, financial modelling and renewable energy investing at the University of Cambridge.
