Lucia is joining IPM, bringing experience in project/program management, strategy development and implementation and policy analysis. She has significant management experience in building a start-up organisation into a recognized player in the field of development.
At her last position, she was the Head of the Project Financing Unit, at ENERGOCHEMICA TRADING a.s., where she managed the Project Financing Unit and coordinated all activities concerned within the holding structure. She was responsible for identifying possible funding for ongoing investments as well as the analysis of the proceedings of Slovak and European institutions with the effect on advanced biofuels, bio-based materials, and bioeconomy. Previously she worked as the Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Nairobi, Kenya where her focus was to develop new partnerships with other donors, as well as national representatives so to achieve a greater impact of Slovak Development Cooperation. Before her posting in Nairobi, Lucia has been working for the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation as a project manager and later as its Director. Lucia joined the Agency in its first year of establishment and during her seven years with the agency, she had the opportunity to develop and manage the whole grant management process. She worked with various stakeholders including NGOs, academia, and private sector. Thematically she focused mainly on the area of health care, agriculture, education, climate change, rule of law, and anti/corruption efforts. When she became Agency’s Managing Director her focus was to implement a new business model so the agency could grow further and disburse greater financial flows.
Lucia has an academic background in international affairs, diplomacy, and law, she holds a Master´s degree from the University of Matej Bel, Faculty of Political Science and International Affairs.
